Building Work in Progress

The first picture is what it looked like when we started.

Our original plan was to complete enough work to just get in the building and have our service. However, those plans were revised with the suggestion from the congregation, shown in picture number 2. This shows the revised plan for completing the building, including the chapel floor which has been expanded to accommodate a larger congregation and the mezzanine floor.

To extend the chapel the contractor had to remove and dispose of all plasterboard walls, dismantle the existing toilet walls, dig a new trench for the toilet at the rear, apply damp-proof render and tank the walls before installing new plasterboard, as shown in the third and fourth image.

Picture 5 shows the extension of the chapel area all the way to the rear of the building.

Picture 6 & 7 shows the worker breaking the concrete where the toilet will be.

Pictures 8 & 9 shows the completed roof as well the 6 skylights.

As the work continues to the interior of the building, the scaffolding is being set up to start working on the exterior of the building as shown in pictures 10 & 11.

The video shows the work being done to complete the side and rear walls.
